　　1. effect/affect

　　(1)effect作“影响”讲是名词；用做动词意为“产生，引起”(＝produce)。

　　(2)affect作“影响”讲是及物动词(＝have an effect on)。

　　[应用1]

　　(1)The amount of rain _________ the growth of crops.

　　雨量影响作物的生长。

　　(2)The war _________ changes all over the world.

　　战争使世界各地发生了变化。

　　2. in spite of/despite/although/though

　　(1)in spite of与despite同义，常可换用。in spite of为普通用语，dispite多用于书面语言，despite不与of连用。

　　(2)although/though也是“尽管；不管；不顾”的意思，但用做从属连词，后面接让步状语从句。in spite of/despite＋n.＝although＋从句。
