　　John， a farmer， was riding his cart along the country road. He had to arrive at the market early so that he could sell his vegetables. It rained heavily the day before，so it was very difficult for the horse to move on in the mud.    76     .

【主旨大意】 本文是一篇寓言故事。一位农夫去买菜，因为雨后的路难走而使马车深陷淤泥之中，在没人帮忙的情况下，农夫朝天抱怨。路过的老人提醒他，为什么不自己去试试呢！最终，农夫自己弄出了车子。告诉我们：面对困难，要先学会靠自己。
